“Learn and perfect your ways accordingly” is the motto of
Cauvery College for Women.
It is universally acclaimed that all the couplets in Thirukural written by the renowned poet Thiruvalluvar are unique
in everyway. This being a universal truth, the couplet,“Study and learn with clarity what is worthy of learning.
God stand firm by their norms of virtue has cured the hearts and minds of the erudite.”
Needless to say that this couplet is like a beacon of light not only for the
student community belonging to schools, colleges and universities but also for the entire community as a whole. Thus this
has become the main mantra of Cauvery College for Women in adhering to this ideal.
The Cauvery is significantly praised and
poised as a symbol of fertility and prosperity down the ages; so is the emblem and the name of this college, which
recalls a mother’s concern for this academic institution.
The lamp that is embedded in the emblem
symbolizes how the light illumines the minds by dispelling the darkness of ignorance.
The Rockfort and The Temple tower of
Srirangam portrayed in the emblem inculcate our responsibility to safeguard our ancient glory and cultural heritage.
A woman plays a pivotal role in
ensuring and promoting the culture and tradition of our society. Thus she has gained her identity even in the emblem
of this college. It is a reminder to the women students to realize their dreams and implement their responsibilities
to the welfare of this college.
Spires signify our laudable high
ideals which eventually should be the inspiration for our life.
The lotus and the book in the emblem are
symbolic of the goddess of learning who is the presiding deity of education, cherishing and sustaining us.
This institution expects its learners to go into this world like polished
gems and perfect their ways according to their learning. Ultimately this will lead them to reach the pinnacles of
glory.
